You can hear keynote and guest speakers from companies such as General Mills, GlaxoSmithKline and Google, who will present on topics related to: the everyday challenges of open innovation in your business; learning how to use social media technologies to engage with your customers; using social networking to increase sales and promote your business; growing your open innovation capabilities with cost-conscience initiatives; expanding your open innovation processes and much more!

INPEX® is proud to welcome “Mrs. Fields” as our keynote speaker at our 2011 show. Debbi Fields will speak on Wednesday morning, June 15, and will cut the ribbon to officially kick off INPEX® 2011!

Debra (Debbi) J. Fields epitomizes the American dream. From humble beginnings, she launched what has become one of the nation’s most visible, successful dessert empires.

Fields earned more than 25 years of entrepreneurial, operational and managerial
experience in a company she built (literally) from scratch. Founder, baker, chief cookie lover and former chairman of Mrs. Fields Cookies, a $450 million company she founded in 1977, Mrs. Fields has since sold her company, which is a market leader among fresh-baked cookie stores.

Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chippery opened its doors to the public in Palo Alto, California in 1977. Thirty-plus years later, Fields’ role had expanded from managing one shop to supervising operations, brand name management, public relations and product development of her company’s 600+ company-owned and franchise stores in the United States and 10 foreign nations.

With expansion on the horizon in 1989, Mrs. Fields, Inc. was among the first companies to take advantage of dramatic computer technology advancements. Fields led her company into the computer age, streamlining operations and production schedules with a state-of-the-art computer system. Her program is used as a model for business efficiency at Harvard Business School. It remains an example of successful application of technology in business management.

Fields’ business accomplishments and capabilities reach far beyond managing Mrs.
Fields, Inc. Today, she sits on the boards of Outback Steakhouse, The Greater Memphis Arts Council and The Orpheum Theater. In 2003, Fields received the Golden Gavel Award, which is awarded annually to an individual who demonstrates consistent self-improvement, success and leadership. That same year, she was inducted into The Society of Entrepreneurs.

Fields is the author of two cookbooks published by Time-Life. The first, Mrs. Fields’
Cookie Book: 100 Recipes from the Kitchen of Mrs. Fields, has sold more than 1.8 million copies and was the first cookbook to top The New York Times best-seller list. The second, I Love Chocolate Cookbook, published in 1994, has enjoyed tremendous success as well, posting sales of over half a million copies.

She hosted Great American Desserts, a weekly program that aired nationally on public television, and is also the name of her third and newest book, Debbi Fields’ Great American Desserts, published by Simon and Schuster.

Don’t pass up this opportunity to hear Debbi’s experience, as well as the chance to exhibit your invention at America’s largest invention trade show, June 14-17, 2011. Call 1-888-54-INPEX to speak to one of our account representatives and reserve your booth today!

First off, InventHelp and INPEX would like to thank everyone who helped make the 25th anniversary show one to remember. We had a great time and it seems everyone else did as well! We hope you found the seminars, speakers and events useful and interesting. It was great to see the showroom floor filled with enthusiastic inventors who were eager to show off their inventions. This year’s INPEX also had a record number of business attendees (almost 1,100) who were on the lookout for inventions and new product ideas.

Pennsylvania Bussiness Central wrote a nice follow-up article about INPEX 2010 which can be read on their site: Inventors Flock to Monroeville for INPEX.

Thanks again and we can’t wait for next year’s show!

I’m happy to report on this cold and snowy January day that many of the meeting and planning magazines that I read are reporting sunny days in the near future, and I’m not just talking about the weather! Experts are estimating an increase in trade show attendance in 2010 as companies begin to rebound.

While the economy has seen its share of good days and bad over the last year and half, it seems that the worst could be behind us. Company representatives are now telling me they have gotten approval to travel to trade shows again and many are marking INPEX 2010 as a must-stop on their calendar.

If you are an inventor, don’t miss this opportunity to meet with representatives from companies who are making a point to attend INPEX to look for new products. Call your INPEX representative today for more information at 888-54-INPEX.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve chosen Nolan Bushnell as our keynote speaker for INPEX 2010!

Known as the “Father of the Electronic Gaming” industry, Nolan Bushnell is most recognized for making our childhood video game days memorable with his invention of both Pong and Atari and believe it or not, created the only place where a kid can be a kid, Chuck E. Cheese.

Bushnell has been convinced that computer games are an excellent way to bring together curiosity and creativity. At the very least, he has revolutionized entertainment in public and at home and will continue to do so. To date, he has founded 18 companies and has worked in many different fields, but still continues to develop computer games.

We’re anxious to hear Mr. Bushnell speak on the topic of entrepreneurship and innovation at the INPEX Inventor’s University™ on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:00am.

The new Monroeville Convention Center is just two miles from the Pennsylvania turnpike and adjacent to the Monroeville Mall and new District Shops. There is also a newly-remodeled, 191-room Doubletree hotel nearby.

Greetings Inventors and Happy New Year from the InventHelp® & INPEX® staff!

I’m sure by now you have noticed by the recent changes to our homepage that INPEX – The Invention Show for 2009 has been postponed. We are currently in the process of rescheduling our 25th anniversary show, and will be sure to keep you updated as soon as plans are underway.

It was a tough decision, but one we feel was in the best interest of our exhibitors. With the economic downturn the country has taken over the last few months, companies are cutting back on corporate travel, and in turn, cutting back on the trade shows that they normally attend. We want to make sure our exhibitors experience the most favorable number of business attendance, which is why we have decided to reschedule the show.

We are, in the meantime, continuing to run the Inventor’s Corner at the 2009 International Home & Housewares Show, March 22nd-24th in Chicago. Check back soon for more details.

Our goal at INPEX is for exhibitors to have the best possible experience as we attempt to bridge the gap between business & entrepreneurs. We will continue to make that our goal as we embark on a new year. I look forward to meeting you all when we celebrate our 25th anniversary show together.

Cheers!
