If INPEX® is your first trade show, you may be wondering how to attract business attendees to your booth. I’d like to share some tips with you to help get more booth traffic, and then be remembered once that interested attendee walks away!

  1. Eye Catching Display: Attendees tend to gravitate toward exciting, colorful displays or dynamic product demonstrations.
  2. Remember Business Cards: Always write a note on the back of business cards given to you by the business attendee. Helpful reminders on what you talked about or what they liked will keep you refreshed if you speak with them again later.
  3. Free Stuff!: Everyone LOVES the word “FREE” – consider offering some type of free giveaway at your booth, even something as small as candy to attract attention.
  4. Have A Booth Buddy: If you need to step away, the buddy system is helpful to avoid your booth appearing empty, therefore unapproachable.
  5. Get Your Sales Pitch Right: Practice and perfect your 2-minute elevator pitch! Be able to explain your invention in 2 minutes or less to interested attendees!

We’re so excited for 2013 exhibitor, Matt Bondie, and his idea, the Baggie Butler. He recently struck a deal with one of the Dragons on Dragon’s Den, Canada’s version of ABC’s Shark Tank. Matt brought the Baggie Butler, a device that holds food storage bags, to INPEX and won a Merit Award for the idea.

Adam Pauze Accepting InventHelp’s INPEX 2012 Inventor of the Year Award

I have exciting news to share with you about one of our 2012 exhibitors, Adam Pauze!

Adam, and his partner, retired Major League baseball player Cliff Floyd, have signed an exclusive retail distribution deal with large, well-known retailer, Canadian Tire Corporation.

The partners have signed with Canadian Tire Corporation for Adam’s product to be sold in stores, under their Mastercraft Maximum brand. The Drywall Axe is slated to be rolled out in stores in mid December.

Since 1922, the Canadian Tire Corporation has been one of Canada’s most recognized and trusted brands and features more than 1,700 retail and gasoline outlets across the country. The company also currently holds the naming rights to the Canadian Tire Centre, home to the NHL team, the Ottawa Senators.

Adam and Cliff exhibited at INPEX 2012 with Adam’s invention, The Drywall Axe. The redesigned measuring tape features a utility knife and pencil holder, and the idea took home a merit award from INPEX 2012.  After being qualified at INPEX, a few months later, he exhibited in the InventHelp-INPEX New Product Showcase at the Electronic Retailing Association’s (ERA) annual convention. It was at that show where Adam won the “Inventor of the Year” award beating out more than 30 other inventors.

“I personally thank INPEX for helping connect me with companies and industry representatives. The recognition and publicity I received from the INPEX show was invaluable,” Adam has said.
