If you have a product that you think you might be able to sell on television, the InventHelp-INPEX New Product Showcase at Electronic Retailing Association’s (ERA) annual D2C show will be held September 24-26, 2013, at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. This showcase will give inventors the opportunity to present their new products to companies in the direct response television industry.

During the three day show, inventors who have booked exhibit space in the New Product Showcase will attend educational seminars and present their product to a panel of direct marketers and retailers for a chance to be crowned, “Inventor of the Year.”

Also, the top five scoring inventors will have the chance to see their product pitched on stage by professional pitchmen & women in front of a live audience. Inventions are chosen based on DRTV pitchability and DRTV potential.

At INPEX 2013, several inventors were selected by panelists from the DRTV industry for an invitation to participate at D2C. Along with these inventors, we’re also inviting any inventor who thinks they have an appropriate product to contact us for more information. Inventors will need to fill out a vetting form about their invention so that experts from the DRTV industry can pre-qualify them to exhibit at the show.

Space is filling up quickly, so contact me, Nicole Lininger, at 412-288-2136, x 4159 or nlininger@inpex.com to see if your invention or new product qualifies in the New Product Showcase. You can also complete our online form by clicking here!

For those inventors still trying to decide whether to purchase a booth at INPEX 2013, I wanted to let you know that we only have 10 booth spaces left!

We have many exciting things planned for inventors this year, including our INPEX Inventors University™ each morning and an opportunity to meet with Scotty Ziegler and Reichart Von Wolfsheild, Hosts of the TV show, INVENTION USA, and INPEX 2013 keynote speakers!

Inventors who purchase a booth space are also qualified to meet with our private product search companies if your product fits with the company’s criteria. Schroeder & Tremayne, Rubbermaid, Danco, Hampton Direct, Irwin Tools, SkyMall, Plews & Edelmann, Reckitt Benckiser, Elmer’s and Kraft Food Groups have signed on to conduct private product searches with inventors at our 2013 show. QVC will also be at INPEX Friday, June 21, looking for retail-ready inventors for its QVC Sprouts Program. In addition to these companies, the Electronic Retailing Association (ERA) will be conducting a search for products that will be a good fit for the New Product Showcase at their annual show in Las Vegas in September.

If you are interested in exhibiting at INPEX 2013, contact an INPEX sales representative today at 888-54-INPEX or complete our online form before our available booth space is gone!

Hello all! Over the weekend, I returned home from Las Vegas and ERA D2C 2012. I wanted to share all of the exciting details from this year’s show.

As promised, I wanted to start by announcing the 2012 “Inventor of the Year.”

Adam Pauze, of Aurora, Ontario, Canada for his invention, “The Drywall Axe™.”

The Drywall Axe™ is a redesigned measuring tape that allows a user to perform multiple functions. The product includes a utility knife and a pencil holder. Easy to use, the tool is designed to help save time and promote efficiency.

On Wednesday afternoon during show hours, every inventor in the New Product Showcase had the opportunity to present their product to a panel of members in the Learning Lounge. Inventors demonstrated their inventions and products to a 5-member panel, and panel members judged the inventors on the “pitchability” of their product while also providing them with valuable feedback. At the end of the pitch session, the top scoring inventors were told that they would get to see their products pitched on the D2C stage on Thursday during the Pitch By the Pros session.

This year’s professionals at the Pitch By the Pros session included Erin Murphy, Chris Steele, Jenny Repco, Dave King and Tracy Metro. Hosted by Tom Jourden, the Pros each took to the stage to pitch the top scoring products from the previous day.

The other four inventors who got to see their products pitched on stage by professional pitchmen and women were:

Evannuel & Catherine Cruz – The Goody Hoody
Murray Goodman – Laser Touch One
Dr. Roland Berthiaume – Lo-Bak™ Trax
Sherre McMahan – AccessorEaz

Adam was declared the winner, and he took home a trophy, as well as two complimentary tickets to the ERA Moxie Awards later that evening at the close of the show.

Adam said this about his experience: “I’m so glad I had this opportunity to present my product to members of the ERA. I’m grateful to the panel for selecting me as the inventor of the year!”

Congratulations to Adam, and all of the inventors who had their products pitched by the pros!

If INPEX® isn’t your first trade show, you’ve undoubtedly experienced the lull that happens at other industry trade shows. For whatever reason, at certain times the show floor just seems quiet and a little less traveled. Maybe you’ve also experienced the frustration of seeing attendees visiting your neighbor’s booth, but continuing to walk right past your booth. I’d like to share some tips which may help you figure out why attendees may be passing up your booth and what you can do to solve that problem and get more booth traffic!

  1. Your booth looked too boring.  Like too many other exhibitors, your trade show booth has dull colors, too much text and too many small images.
  2. Your benefit was not clear.  With all that text, or else none at all, your trade show booth graphics didn’t quickly communicate your product — and why it’s worth visiting your booth.
  3. Your booth staffers don’t look appealing.  They looked unprofessional, uninterested, unmotivated, and pre-occupied — not the kind of people a potential customer wants to talk to — let alone buy from, for that matter.
  4. Your booth staff didn’t attempt to engage the attendee.  Rather than offer a greeting or ask a question, they stared into space, or talked with each other, or into the phone.
  5. Your booth space lacks activity.  It looks too dull compared to other exhibitors who are having energetic conversations, presentations, demos, and more.
  6. Your booth wasn’t invited.  Attendees only have so much time to visit booths, so those that asked him to visit before the show get first dibs.  Or perhaps…
  7. The attendee already has an appointment.  He breezed past you on the way to a meeting with another exhibitor further into the hall.  But you can still get him on his return trip — if he walks down your aisle again.

The above tips were taken from Skylinetradeshowtips.com.
